the glens

the top picture is Fiddich, our older girl who's been giving us all of the eggs so far. Livet is on the bottom, and she's finally a "woman." She laid her first egg last week. the poor thing was so confused before it happened...

more fence

we're not quite finished with the first part of the fence, one more panel to go, but eventually it will look like this all the way around the garden. there will be a gate into the garden that matches this one, too. (the middle picture is the gate). and since we clipped the girls' wings, we were able to take the netting off the top of the chicken yard, which makes getting in and out so much easier.

i just ordered our bees. they will ship in april, which gives us 6 months to build a hive. with the fence coming along and two chickens now laying eggs, the farm is starting to take shape....

building a fence

as much as i love the construction zone look of the orange fence, it's not very sturdy. the dog likes to try to push his face through so he can play with the outdoor animals. so we are in the process of building something that is a little easier on the eyes and a little firmer on the face.

B.B.

poor b.b.. in all of the excitement over the chickens, i never put up any good pictures of the bunny. so here he is. i don't think he was very happy about the addition of the birds, and they are a bit bossy, but they seem to tolerate each other.
