we have eggs!! (well, egg..)

i never realized how miraculous an egg is before. buying them at the store in no way compares to finding them in the yard and knowing that they came from our very own chickens. if the eggs are this exciting, what's it going to be like when we are eating from the garden?

Meet the "Glens"

our farm is decidedly more farm-like with the addition of Glenfiddich and Glenlivet. no, we're not alcoholics. it's a long story.

the coop

intended as a a dog house, built to be a chicken coop, temporarily housing the bunny

the mess we call the backyard

the beginnings of the deck, the dog on one side of the fence and the bunny on the other, the chicken yard, the garden and looking back at the house from inside the garden.

the farm

the beginning of the "farm." we are in the process of turning half of the backyard into a garden and chicken yard. the first step was to till all of the clay that we call soil so that maybe something will be able to grow. the tiller was a beast.
